Pigs are big business in Uganda due to good demand for Pig Farming products from both the domestic and export markets. Pork is a very popular delicacy in Uganda and pigs are very easy to raise.

The pig can feed on most anything and has a high feed conversion efficiency and as such produces more live weight gain from a given weight of feed than any other class of meat producing animal. They are also very fertile and In one year a pig can produce/farrow twice, producing 8-12 piglets each time.
