The holiday season is just around the corner and we invite you to kick it off with us on Giving Tuesday and through the end of 2020!

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving back. On the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, you'll have the chance to join people around the world and support a cause close to your heart.

This Giving Tuesday we are raising funds to help our students finish 2020 strong - both in the "at-home classroom" and preparing them to safely return to the physical classroom in 2021.

In order to accomplish this goal we are hoping to raise enough funds to support the following initiatives:
  • Enhancing food distribution with the addition of SEEDS. Hearts & Hope has been blessed that we’ve been able to assist needy students, their families, and others in the community by distributing food to our sponsored students and the outside community 5 times since April.  During the worst of the strict lockdowns, many families resorted to eating the seeds they planted in their gardens for sustenance. Now that most restrictions have lifted, many of these students & their families need seeds to help them replant their family gardens so they can secure access to food for the future.
  • Providing more remote learning supplies. Hearts & Hope has implemented and supported remote learning for students at home in small cells of students.  But more is needed and these students would greatly benefit if they had access to reading books, school supplies, mini chalkboards, lanterns, and radios so students can listen to broadcasts of teacher instructions.
  • Supporting safe school re-opening for all students. In order for the schools to open for ALL students, they must meet specific and very strict governmental standards to ensure a safe environment that does not lead to the spread of COVID-19. These requirements include items such as multiple handwashing stations, an on-site nurse and isolation room for students with symptoms as they await transport to a medical facility, boarding supplies, medical supplies, masks & hygienic supplies for school staff and students,  improved security for the schools, solar panels, and covid educational materials & signage.
  • Replenishing home sanitation and hygiene supplies for students and their families. In areas populated by subsistence farmers, soap no longer is considered a luxury, but a lifesaver. With families that are often the size of 8 people or more, the bars of soap run out quickly. In places where food is scarce, items like soap and sanitizer become an unattainable necessity.

We have already accomplished SO MUCH with the help of our supporters and sponsors in 2020 and we are VERY thankful this season for all of you who were able to support Hearts & Hope this year. Join us in making a difference as we bring this difficult and unexpected year to a close!
